The Party

The Party

"I see you're trying to distract me from the real point here," Magnus said instead. "You had a birthday - a perfect excuse for me to throw one of my famous parties - and you didn't even tell me about it?"
Saving Raphael Santiago, Cassandra Clare

Dear Kids,

This evening was SBR’s party. We had it in the back yard, and just a few of your friends came over. The other day, I bought a screen and a projector, and I set that up so you could watch a movie with your besties. But before that, I got dinner ready. I made 4 batches of pizza dough to make 8 pies. I’ve never made that many at one time. And let me tell you, I’ve never seen a bunch of girls devour food that quickly. It was like something out of a horror movie to watch a gaggle of tweens descend on its prey and consume everything without even taking a breath. But, as the pizza maker…well, to be honest, I was flattered. What better compliment can you get than people coming back for more (and more and more)?

Oh, and we watched Despicable Me in case you want to remember.

I’m sorry, I don’t really have any great “” insight to impart…perhaps it’s something as simple as always make time for friends. Whether it’s a big extravagant ball where the women are in cocktail dresses and the men are in tuxedos or it’s just hanging out in the backyard with some homemade pizza and minions, always make sure you’re celebrating with friends and family.

Love,

Aba
